  1. Wow, David – that’s really interesting!

Firstly, huge congratulations for getting onto the Beeb and for doing so well. And kudos to you for having the foresight to record your gig from your pocket as well. I think that was a very useful thing to do, especially as the broadcast version is so different. It is not unreasonable to think you’d have thought you’d been going mad otherwise. Gaslighted by the BBC! But take heart, you sound pretty darn good on the broadcast version, and I can see why they edited your set this way, just to keep it tight, timewise. Good stuff!

    • Hi Donna, thank you, you would make a wonderful diplomat. What are you doing over the next few days? Fancy giving negotiating with the EU a shot?

  2. Listening to your pod, it does seem a bit naughty. Well done for calling it out. Hopefully catch you in london some time

  3. What’s the point of editing it like that? It surely would have sounded better on’t radio…although they may have to explain why you didn’t win I suppose

  4. Just gave that a listen and I was left slightly infuriated with the BBC. I honestly think it’s someone’s job to edit stuff and they only do it because they think they should. Pointless meddling. Like cutting the 2nd verse or the intro out of a song, you wouldn’t dare.
